An excellent cruise
by candace from orlando, florida
Sailing date:
May 2011
Pros:
the service
Cons:
the lack of a club to have the Latin Music to dance to. No Latin club.
Overall it was great. It was a shame that they put the Latin band in a Cigar lounge-couldn't breath. Then they put it in the middle of the casino where everyone walked in between the dancers. It was awful.

Don't Miss:
the Goff's caye snorkel was great. They should tell you that they have food and drinks to buy when you get on the Island so you don't braing everything.
Cozumel, Mexico
George Town, Grand Cayman
the 4x4 jeep excursion was a blast
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
The best of Rotan motorcoach excurision was a bust. Everything we saw was pathetic

Great cruise!
by A Traveler from Tampa, FL
Sailing date:
Nov 2010
Pros:
ports of call
Cons:
slot machines on board
The ship was clean and well kept. The crew and staff were very friendly.

Dining/Food
Breakfast was the same every other day. I shouldn't have to pack a suit for just eating in the dining room. It takes up too much luggage space on an already cramped room.
Stateroom Quality
Had plenty of size and space for 3 people
Ship Staff Quality
Drinks were slow
Entertainment & Activities
Ports of call were great except we missed grand cayman and got stuck in a last minute trip to costa maya. Would have been good except there were only 4 crappy excursions available. Their casino is a rip off, payouts are set at 10%. one of the progressive machines only had a 200$ jack pot hit twice on the entire 7 day ship cruise. Stick to cards and table games, run from the slots. I met numerous people who had pumped over 2-3k and didn't win anything.
Children's Programs
All was good except the staff would shut down an hour before dinner. This was inconvenient if you needed to drop them off to enjoy some alone time.

Kind of ghetto
Cozumel, Mexico
Tulum was great, best beach which is a hidden jem is there
Don't Miss:
Take the ferry to Playa de Carmen and check out the Mayan ruins there.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras
Don't Miss:
Snorkeling, eating at 1 dove or 2 doves right outside the port

Good Time had by All!
by Carmen from NH
Sailing date:
Apr 2007
Pros:
Day Time Choices for Meals
Cons:
Formal Dinner - All Steaks were rare or well done
I booked this cruise 1.7 months in advance for 40 friends and family members ranging in age from 7years old to 79 years old. We went to the Eastern Caribbean. The only complaint I had from everyone was: the beef wasn't very good...although the Deli, the sushi and most of the Formal Dining room had raves from everyone. It was a little rocky in the beginning. On the 6th day some people did have to visit the Infirmary - not because of being seasick but rather from catching a virus. Note: There was a person in the infirmary telling the dr. that she had been sick for 4-5 days (this was the 6th day) and she was just going to the dr's so I don't think this was the ship's fault. I've cruise over 10 times to various places. This was a huge ship and most people had balcony rooms with a few having interior rooms and ocean view rooms. No one complained about the room size, or cleanliness, but a few had problems with noisy neighbors or noise coming from the Theatre (at 7:00am). The ship did try to accmodate the issue. We didn't like the route we took - leaving Miami and arriving in Bahama's the first day. We would have preferred a day at sea first to get adjusted to the ship. Some people loved only stopping at 3 ports while others wanted a different port every day. I personally didn't like the layout of the Lido Deck. Although there was plenty of lounging areas I felt far from water at times. We really enjoyed the water slide (WARNING: SALT WATER THAT BURNS YOUR EYES) and the outdoor showers everywhere were great. It did seem more crowded with less places to gather around a pool than some of Carnival's smaller ships. We usually hang out in the back of the boat with a smaller pool and a couple of spas - the rear pool on this ship was actually inside with a retractable roof so we ended up hanging out upstairs to get fresh air - and no showers/spas were quickly accessible without walking down a flight of stairs. - this wasn't a big deal - Honestly! I would go on this ship again. Everyone liked it - there were minor things but no bad events really occurred. The kids had a great time with the kids lounges, etc - especially teen-agers - Parents loved it. If you are flying in or out of Ft. Lauderdale - rent a car with Enterprise instead of paying for transfers through Carnival - IT WAS A NIGHTMARE LEAVING THE PORT...we all almost missed our flights due to chaos and slow luggage loading. We had flights booked after 1:00pm and got off the ship at 9:00am. We didn't get to FTL until 12:50pm and stood outside in the heat for several hours waiting to get a bus. Very Poor System.

This ship had everything and we all enjoyed it.
Dining/Food
As I said earlier - I thought (and many of our 40 co-cruisers thought) the day time food was unbelievable. The evening food was great but I would suggest ordering your beef rare and if it comes too rare send it back for something a little pinker - otherwise it was well done and very tough.
Stateroom Quality
Great room - no complaints
Ship Staff Quality
As usual - Carnival's crew is top rate. No problems or complaints
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment on Carnival's ships are always great. We did have one comedian who absolutely bombed out! Otherwise - all other comedians and performers were great!
Children's Programs
Awesome - Parents absoultely loved it.
